For many, putting can be the most difficult part of the game. There are a few important elements in all good putting strokes that we should try to replicate in order to hit more solid putts and have better feel around the greens.
- Quiet body. Movement of the putting stroke should come from the shoulders. The lower body and hands are passive in good putting strokes.
- Head stays down. Keeping your head down and listening for the ball to go in the hole (rather than watching it) is the easiest way to train your body to stay quiet.
- Left wrist is flat at address and after impact. When you use your shoulders more- your hands naturally do less. A soft grip will also aid efforts to keep your hands passive.
Practice these 3 key fundamentals and become a better putter!
